The Fort
Here at The Fort, we believe in the kinds of events that make history.
We’ve got a fire pit outside, braai facilities upstairs, as well as two dorm rooms downstairs with six bunk beds each with a male and female ablution. The four double bedrooms also have en-suite bathrooms. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms that can fit up to 24 people each!
Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need—we have both a walking-in fridge and a stand-up fridge/freezer combo on top of it all a deep freeze for all your ice needs.
In short: we’re a venue that’s perfect for large groups (up to 80 people) who want to throw the kind of event that will be talked about for years to come!
40 sets of bedding will be provided. 4 double and 36 singles. For groups larger than 40 pax guests will need to bring with the additional bedding. Please remember to bring along your bath and swim towel.
Fire wood can be pre-arranged and bought at R100 for 50 pieces.
Each morning, we’ll come by to clean the kitchen and wash up any dishes from your meals so you can focus on relaxing instead of doing chores when you get back from exploring the surrounding areas.
Check in is 2pm-6pm and check out is 10 am, early check in or late check out can be arranged prior to arrival via email and a R250 fee will be charged.
Guests will be sent the gate code as well as their on- site contact the day before check in via WhatsApp.
We provide river water for showers and dam tubs, filtered water for drinking will be available in your unit. This is to sustain the farm and give back to nature.
No TV and limited cell phone signal available.
Activities
Swimming: The river can be used for swimming as well as the dam tub provided.
Canoe or SUP can be arranged at an additional cost of R200per item for the day.
Extra Services
This Property is self-catering.
A Spit braai can be arranged by a trusted service provider (lamb is standard but other options can be arranged).
Groups of 15 and up from *R255 – R450pp – please ask for a quote, group size dependent.
Spit includes:
- 500 Grams raw meat (bone-in) per person
- Curry Pasta Salad
- Coleslaw salad
- Onions and Potatoes
- Garlic Bread
(Vegetarian, vegan, and special dietary requirements can be catered for – additional costs may be incurred)
